Lured by forcast highs in the low 70's, Shauna and I took off for Southern Utah last weekend. We didn't have any real agenda, we just wanted a break from the frozen North. We ended up just this side of the Arizona border, in a little town called Bigwater. The weather was perfect, and the sky was the the most ridiculous shade of blue I've ever seen.

We headed out of town on a little dirt road (NPS 230) through the desert.

Just east of Big Water on NPS 230

We stopped here in the Tropic Shale formation and collected shark teeth for a while before moving on.

Kept driving along NPS 230 through the desert.

We took NPS 230 to Smoky Mountain Road, over the top of the Kapairowits Plateau.

A cool shot of the cliffs as we climbed.

From the top!
